Uttarakhand activists today called for a state-wide bandh tomorrow in protest against the death of Baba Mohan Uttarakhandi this morning, on the 38th day of his fast seeking establishment of a new Capital for Uttaranchal at Gairsen in Chamoli district instead of the present Capital of Dehra Dun.
A leading figure in the separate State movement, Baba Uttarakhandi was famous for his numerous fasts for the creation of the State. [more]
