PTI (2005.1.9): Assembly session tomorrow

[India News]: Dehradun, Jan 9 : The winter session of the Uttaranchal assembly, which begins tomorrow, is expected to be stormy with the opposition gearing up to corner the N D Tiwari government on the issue of increasing unemployment and development issues.

Ahead of the session, the government asked the opposition members to ensure smooth functioning of the session.

“It is the responsibility of the opposition to make sure that issues related to common people can be discussed,” Information Minister Indira Hridayesh said.

With the permanent capital issue hotting up, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) would seek the government’s stand on the issue. UKD is demanding Gairsain area in Chamoli district be made permanent capital of Uttaranchal as Dehradun is only the interim capital. [more]
