A recent report published by National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA), has given sleepless nights to the residents and government of Uttaranchal government. The report says that about 1200 villages in the state are highly prone to the landslide disaster.
“The report has indicated risk zones from the landslide point of view. Earthquake factor too has been indicated. Sensitive and risk zones have been identified. The report has also informed the government about the rehabilitation and treatment measures to be taken in this regard,” said P C Nawani, Director of Geological Survey of India, Dehradun.
