Hindu (2005.11.21): Survey to be conducted on permanent capital of Uttaranchal

Dehra Dun, Nov. 21 (PTI): Uttaranchal Government would rope in a Delhi-based private organisation to conduct a survey on what could be the permanent capital for the hill state, official sources said here Sunday.

An agreement in this regard would soon be signed between the Delhi School of Planning and Architecture and the state government, the sources said, adding, initially, the survey would be conducted in four cities — Dehra Dun, Rishikesh, Ramnagar and Gairsain.

The Virendra Dixit Commission, looking into the issue of deciding the permanent capital of the state, is yet to submit its report
