DEHRA DUN: The issue of rehabilitation of people displaced by the Tehri Dam is hotting up again with more areas getting submerged under the Bhaghirathi river and the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party demanding a fresh compensation package for those affected.
The rising waters of the 2400 MW Tehri dam reservoir has also blocked the Bhaldyana bridge cutting off Pratap Nagar block from Tehri district.
Though authorities have pressed motor-boats for the convenience of the people, yet there is a lot of resentment among people against the government for not providing basic amenities like schools and transport facilities.
