DEHRA DUN: Some smaller parties having little or no say in Uttarakhand politics along with Uttarakhand Mahila Manch, Uttarakhand activist groups and Uttarakhand Kranti Dal have formed a “Pratham Shakti Morcha” to jointly contest the upcoming State Assembly polls.

Announcing this here on Friday, UKD president B. D. Raturi said the Morcha comprises leftists, Uttarakhand activists, Lok Janshakti Party, Jan Morcha and the Socialist Front.

These forces will jointly put up candidates and seek a vote for need-based development of the poor Uttarakhandi who had been badly neglected by major parties like the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The UKD and the local action groups had played a leading role in the agitation for a separate State but failed to convert their popularity into votes last time.
