The first biennial convention of the Uttarakhand Parivartan Party (UPP) began at Ramnagar today. On the opening day of the two-day meet, party workers constituted the core committee of the political outfit. PC Tewari was again chosen as president and Prabhat Dhyani as general secretary. Jay Prakash Uttarakhandi and Dr Harpal Negi were chosen as vice-presidents of the party.
On the opening day of the convention, the party leadership resolved to commit itself for working towards securing the interests of the ordinary people of the state and opposing the handing over of the precious land resources of Uttarakhand to the land mafia and the builders’ lobby. [more]
