Uttarakhand’s political class revels in weak Lokayukta Act

NEW DELHI: Uttarakhand chief minister Ramesh Pokhriyal may have got the boot on corruption issues but the state ironically appears to be ruled by the cleanest political class in the country.

The state Lokayukta has not received a single complaint against any minister or legislator in the last three years, in stark contrast to a plethora of charges against political leaders in other states with the focus intensified by Anna Hazare’s agitation. [more]
