The Uttarakhand Parivartan Party (UPP) has demanded that committees comprising representatives from political and social organisations be constituted to supervise relief efforts across the state in the wake of the disaster unleashed by the recent rains.
The party has stated that the constitution of such parties is pertinent to check the misuse of money meant to provide relief to the suffering masses.
Party president PC Tewari has demanded that criminal proceedings be initiated against those involved in usurping the aid meant to combat the disaster and provide relief to the people. He also appealed to people to be alert and check the misuse of the funds. [more]
