Hollow promises cost Nishank CM’s post

Solid article, but as the reporter himself notes, Nishank was able to buy off his critics in the media to hide the disintegration of the state government. Only a few reporters were intrepid and dedicated enough to consistently expose the regime.

The two-year-and-two-month tenure of now ousted Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank was marked by gross inefficiency when it came to governance. Nishank was known for making tall promises and a lot of sweet talk but the result on ground had been a big naught. The tenure was also marked by doling out favours to his critics, particularly the media so that a positive image was sent out to the masses. [more]
